Canal Stenosis

Description

Spinal canal stenosis refers to the narrowing of the spinal canal, which houses the spinal cord and nerve roots. This narrowing can compress the spinal cord or nerves, leading to symptoms such as pain, numbness, tingling, weakness, or difficulty walking, particularly in the back, neck, or legs.

It is commonly caused by age-related changes, such as osteoarthritis, thickened ligaments, herniated discs, or bone spurs. In some cases, congenital conditions or trauma may also contribute.

Treatment options range from physical therapy and medications to epidural injections or surgery, depending on the severity of symptoms
